Amorepacific Unveils Next-Generation Skin Longevity Technology
Amorepacific is pushing the boundaries of personalized skincare with the introduction of a new AI-powered system developed in collaboration with MIT. The technology moves beyond traditional skin analysis by focusing on predicting and managing how skin changes over time.
The launch reflects a broader shift toward longevity-focused beauty, where skincare is no longer just reactive, but preventative and data-driven.
A new approach to skin analysis
The system, called SkinSight, functions as a form of “electronic skin,” combining a wearable sensor, real-time data tracking, and AI-driven analysis.
At the core of the technology is an ultra-thin patch that adheres directly to the skin. The patch is equipped with a high-sensitivity strain sensor capable of detecting micro-level changes in key aging indicators, including skin tightness, temperature, moisture levels, and exposure to UV and blue light.
Data collected from the patch is transmitted through a Bluetooth module and processed through a mobile app. The platform integrates this information with daily lifestyle patterns to build a continuous, 24-hour view of environmental and behavioral exposure. Using this dataset, the system identifies factors that may accelerate skin aging, predicts where changes such as wrinkles or loss of elasticity may occur, and generates personalized skincare recommendations.
To improve precision, SkinSight incorporates advanced sensor architecture developed through collaboration with MIT Professor Jeehwan Kim and his team. The system uses a piezotronic sensor design with electron-level sensitivity, allowing it to capture subtle physiological changes with greater accuracy.
The patch is also designed for long-term wear. Its breathable structure allows it to remain stable on the skin throughout daily activities, including during perspiration, while adapting to the natural contours of the face. This enables consistent, real-world tracking across different environments, producing highly individualized data over time.
Amorepacific has already published research on the technology in scientific journals, including Science and Science Advances, reinforcing its focus on combining beauty with validated scientific innovation.
SkinSight represents a shift in how skincare technology is positioned. Instead of simply analyzing current skin conditions, the platform focuses on forecasting future changes and offering proactive solutions. The system aligns with Amorepacific’s broader vision of “Ageless Beauty,” where skincare is driven by long-term vitality rather than short-term results. By linking environmental exposure, lifestyle habits, and biological responses, the technology creates a more complete picture of skin health over time.
The company also continues to expand its intellectual property in this area, with multiple patents filed internationally across South Korea, the United States, and other markets. Beyond diagnostics, SkinSight is already being applied in product development. The technology has been used to evaluate the performance of products such as Sulwhasoo’s First Care Activating Serum, helping validate its effectiveness in improving skin firmness.
This integration of real-time data with product testing reflects a growing trend in beauty, where brands use measurable outcomes to support claims and refine formulations.
Continued growth across global markets
Alongside its technology developments, Amorepacific reported steady financial performance, driven by both global expansion and operational efficiency.
Growth has been supported by key brands including Laneige, Sulwhasoo, and Aestura, as well as increased momentum across digital channels, multi-brand retail, and cross-border e-commerce. Luxury skincare, in particular, has remained a strong contributor, with Sulwhasoo strengthening its position across both online and offline markets. Other brands, including Hera and AP Beauty, have also expanded through new product launches and improved customer engagement strategies.
E-commerce continues to play a central role, with brands scaling internationally and leveraging digital platforms for growth. In the US, Laneige has maintained strong performance, while Aestura and Hanyul have expanded their presence. Social commerce, including TikTok Shop, has also contributed to increased visibility and sales.
In EMEA, the company has diversified its portfolio with brands such as Laneige and Innisfree, while entering new dermocosmetics segments through Aestura.
Across Asia, markets like Japan have seen continued expansion through targeted marketing and localized brand strategies. In Greater China, improved operational efficiency has supported profitability, particularly in haircare through brands like RYO. Mass market brands, including mise-en-scène and LABO-H, have also delivered strong growth through new product launches and expanded distribution across both digital and physical retail channels.
With technologies like SkinSight, Amorepacific is positioning itself at the intersection of beauty, health, and advanced science. As the industry moves toward preventative care and measurable outcomes, tools that track, predict, and personalize skin health are likely to play a central role in the next phase of innovation.
