AI as a Pre-Clinical Screening Tool

Mass General Brigham has recently announced the launch of an AI company that will be used as a screening tool. AlwithCare is a spinoff company of Mass General Brigham founded by researchers from the company.

RECTIFIER AI AlwithCare's AI tool RECTIFIER (RAG-Enabled Clinical Trial Infrastructure for Inclusion Exclusion Review) The AI tool was first generated by researchers at Mass General Brigham's academic research group. RECTIFIER utilizes AI to screen a patient's electronic health record for information that can determine their eligibility for a clinical research trial. The tool also assesses unstructured data available in previous notes and reports.

Why this matters

RECTIFIER AI has resulted in more than 20 active and onboarding use cases in research and clinical operations. The tool continues to expand across different health fields as well as will be expanding to other providers. Mass General Brigham will additionally use RECTIFIER to accelerate identification and reduce manual chart review in clinical and public health.

Although RECTIFIER is the first AI tool involved in retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) AI. Further research is being put out.
