Beauty Company Partnerships Advance AI-Driven Personalization
Artificial intelligence is continuing to reshape the beauty industry. Two recent partnerships highlight how AI is improving both the customer shopping experience and the discovery of next-generation skincare ingredients. Together, they demonstrate AI’s growing role in retail, product development, and scientific research.
AI Delivers Strong Retail Results in the Nordics
Beauty technology company Revieve has partnered with Matas Group to launch AI-powered skin analysis, makeup recommendations, and virtual try-on tools across Matas and Kicks locations in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland.
The AI platform allows customers to upload a selfie for a personalized skin assessment. It also recommends products based on individual concerns and lets shoppers virtually try on makeup before purchasing. The technology is available online, through mobile apps, and is now being tested in select physical stores.
The launch has already produced strong commercial results. Revieve reported that its Virtual Try-On feature increased conversion rates by 331%. AI Skin Analytics improved conversions by 180%, while the AI Makeup Advisor increased conversions by 153%. Customers who used the AI tools also spent up to 37.3% more per order.
The results suggest that personalized AI experiences can strengthen customer engagement while driving higher sales. Matas Group is now expanding the technology across its retail network, including in-store AI consultation pilots in Stockholm.
AI Accelerates Longevity Ingredient Discovery
On the research side, biotechnology company Debut has partnered with Brazilian beauty company Natura to develop an AI-discovered longevity ingredient complex for skincare.
Debut’s molecular discovery platform can computationally screen 96 billion molecular possibilities in just days. Traditional discovery methods would require centuries to evaluate the same number of compounds. This allows researchers to identify promising new biotech ingredients much more efficiently.
The selected ingredients will be combined with Natura’s Amazonian botanical extracts, including Ucuuba and Tukumã. Together, the ingredients are designed to target the biological drivers of skin aging. Products featuring the new longevity complex could launch as early as next year following clinical validation.
The partnership also marks Debut’s expansion into Latin America while supporting Natura’s continued investment in science-backed skincare innovation.
The Growing Role of AI in Beauty
Although these partnerships focus on different areas of the industry, they share a common goal. Both use AI to improve decision-making and accelerate innovation.
For retailers, AI is creating more personalized shopping experiences that increase customer engagement and purchasing confidence. For researchers, AI is dramatically reducing the time needed to discover new cosmetic ingredients and develop future skincare technologies.
As beauty companies continue investing in personalization and scientific research, AI is becoming more than a digital tool. It is evolving into a core part of how brands serve customers, develop products, and bring new innovations to market.
